Recruitment Agency in NYC for Roles You Cannot Afford to Get Wrong

Yes. We run full-cycle search for New York companies as a remote-first, international firm based in California: we calibrate the role first, then source candidates across New York and five other regions, and hand over a shortlist built around what the job actually requires, not a keyword match.

What a New York search looks like

Calibration call. We talk through what the role needs to accomplish in the first year, not just the title and comp band. A mandate that sounds like "Head of Growth" gets specific here: what channel, what stage, what has already been tried. Done means we can describe the ideal candidate's last three career moves, not just a resume headline.

Talent map. We build a picture of where people with that exact background sit today, across New York and the other markets we search. Done means we know the realistic pool size and where the scarcity actually is, before a single outreach message goes out.

Outreach. We contact people directly, most of whom are not applying to jobs. For a New York search this usually means reaching people currently at competing financial services, media or consumer brands, along with candidates in the other regions we cover. Done means a live pipeline of people who have agreed to talk.

Scorecard. For companies still deciding how much support they need, the Hiring Scorecard is a short assessment scoring role clarity, hiring readiness, talent market fit and recruitment capacity, then recommending a model. It confirms or corrects the shape of the engagement before we commit to it.

Shortlist. We hand over a calibrated set of candidates, each qualified against the calibration brief, not a folder of resumes. Done means every name is someone you would genuinely want to interview.

Interviews. We help structure the interview process around what actually predicts performance in your setup, and manage scheduling and feedback so it does not stall.

Offer. We advise on offer structure and timing based on what we are seeing in the market for that role right now, without publishing a salary figure we have not sourced.

Close. Done means the candidate has accepted and started, and the loop between calibration and outcome is closed. That is the search.

How we work with New York companies without a storefront there

We do not have a physical office, branch or local team based in New York. We are a remote-first search firm based in California, and we run searches for New York companies the way a local firm would: calibrating against the market's realities (a concentration of financial services, media, advertising and consumer brands, all competing for the same senior and cross-functional hires) and sourcing candidates who already answer to that market.

The difference is that we do not stop at the five boroughs. We search six regions, Western Europe, North America, Balkans, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Latin America, because the strongest person for a New York role is not always the person already living in New York. A company competing for the same shortlist as every other employer in the city is often better served by a search that looks past that shortlist entirely.

The three engagement models

Pricing is available on request; fees vary based on role seniority, search complexity and hiring volume, and executive-level or unusually complex searches are quoted individually. The structure of each model is fixed, whatever the number.

The sectors we search for New York companies

Leadership and Executive Search. Chief Marketing Officer, Chief Technology Officer, senior finance leadership, and heads of function for founder-led and investor-backed companies where the mandate is broader than any single job description.

Growth and Ecommerce. Head of Growth, Head of Ecommerce, Head of TikTok Shop, performance marketing leadership and creative director roles for consumer brands, marketplaces and media businesses building acquisition and lifecycle functions. See how to hire a Head of Growth for that specific mandate.

Product, Technology and AI. Founding engineer, AI engineer, staff software engineer, Head of Product and engineering leadership roles inside financial services, media and venture-backed software companies. Related reading: how to hire engineers and AI talent.

Government Contracting. Cleared talent, program support, technical and professional services, and linguists for contractors and international organizations staffing programs from a New York base, supported by our government contracting division.

These four sectors are described further at the sectors we search in.

When a New York company does not need us

If you have one clearly defined mid-level role, a job description that already matches market expectations, and applicant flow coming in, post it and run the interviews yourselves. A search partner earns its fee when the mandate is ambiguous, the pool is thin, or the role has already stayed open longer than the plan allowed. If none of that applies yet, save the conversation for when it does.

The short version

A New York search with us starts with calibration, not a resume database. We work with New York companies without a local presence there, sourcing across six regions because the right candidate is not always local. Three models cover the range from sourcing-only support to full end-to-end search to embedded capacity across multiple roles, priced on request rather than published up front. If your role is well-defined and applicants are already coming in, you do not need any of this yet.

Tell us about the role. We'll come back with a calibrated shortlist, and pricing for the model that fits.

Questions companies ask

Is there a Recruitmint office located in New York City?

No. We are remote-first, based in California, and we do not maintain a branch, address or local team in New York. That does not cost you anything: we calibrate against the New York market specifically and source candidates across six global regions, which usually gives a New York search more reach than a firm working only its own backyard.

What does a recruitment agency in New York actually do that we cannot do ourselves?

We calibrate the role before we source, build a talent map of where the right people actually sit, and run direct outreach to people who are not applying to jobs. For a well-defined role with applicant flow, you likely do not need that. For a role that has stayed open past plan, that is the gap we close.

Are you a headhunter for New York City executive roles, or a recruiting firm for NYC roles generally?

Both. Our Leadership and Executive Search work covers C-suite and heads of function, and the same team runs full-cycle recruitment for founding engineers, growth leaders and specialist government contracting roles. The model changes by role; the calibration process does not.

Do you work as a tech recruiter for NYC startups, or only larger companies?

We work with founder-led and growth-stage companies specifically, which includes early-stage startups hiring a founding engineer as often as it includes later-stage companies hiring engineering leadership. Stage matters less than whether the role is hard to define or hard to fill.

How much does a New York search cost?

Pricing is on request and varies by seniority, complexity and hiring volume, so we do not publish a figure that would be wrong for most searches. The Hiring Scorecard is a fast way to see which model fits before that conversation happens.

Can we start with a small engagement and expand later?

Yes. A Sourcing Sprint on a single role and an Embedded Partner arrangement across several open roles sit on the same spectrum, and companies often start narrow and move to broader coverage once the first search proves out.
